Summary

Arosa-Lenzerheide is the largest continuous ski domain in Graubünden canton: 225 km of pistes and 43 lifts connecting two sides — Arosa (1,800 m, mountain resort atmosphere) and Lenzerheide (1,500 m, family village). The connection was made in 2013/14 via the Urdenbahn cable car, which crosses the valley without intermediate pylons — one of the most spectacular images of Swiss ski infrastructure.

The domain offers an almost perfect balance between blue and red runs, with varied terrain from forest to high mountain up to 2,865 m. Just 2.5h from Zurich, it is one of the largest Swiss domains most easily accessible.

Why ski here

1. 225 km: the largest in Graubünden Larger than St. Moritz (as a continuous domain), more varied than Davos. The canton’s most extensive domain.

2. Urdenbahn: the spectacular connection The cable car crossing the valley between Arosa and Lenzerheide without pylons is engineering and landscape in one. Obligatory photo.

3. Total balance Mix of blue and red runs with some black. Neither too easy nor extreme. Ideal for progressing families and sporty skiers.

4. Two faces, two atmospheres Arosa: mountain resort at 1,800 m, more exclusive. Lenzerheide: valley village at 1,500 m, more family-friendly and economical.

Scibasku tip

Arosa-Lenzerheide is for skiers seeking a large Swiss domain without Zermatt or Verbier prices: 225 km, good balance of levels, easy access from Zurich, and Graubünden prices (more reasonable than Valais).

Must-do: Cross the Urdenbahn at sunset — impressive valley views.
