Whilst Verbier attracts expert skiers and luxury clientele, Nendaz offers the same access to the complete domain — including the descent from Mont-Fort (3,330m) — at significantly lower prices and with an authentic village atmosphere.

The resort itself has approximately 100 km of well-groomed pistes, suited to intermediate skiers and families. Direct access to the Mont-Fort glacier makes this resort a smart choice for those seeking altitude and variety without the Verbier budget.

Why ski here

1. Full access to 4 Vallées for less The 4 Vallées lift pass gives access to the same 410 km as from Verbier, but Nendaz has accommodation 30-40% cheaper.

2. Mont-Fort (3,330m) The highest point in the domain is directly accessible from Nendaz. The glacier descent offers panoramic views of the Valais 4,000m peaks.

3. A genuinely family-friendly resort Wide, well-groomed pistes in the resort’s own area. Ski schools with good reputation. Village atmosphere without the tourist pressure of Verbier.

4. Accessible freeride Marked itineraries from Mont-Fort and Gentianes. Snow generally good thanks to the altitude.

Accommodation

Nendaz is a residential village with a predominance of apartments and chalets. More limited hotel options than Verbier but better value for money.

Après-ski and gastronomy

Moderate après-ski, centred on village bars and mountain restaurants. Nendaz is not a party destination — it is a skiing and rest destination. Traditional Valais cuisine (raclette, fondue, viande séchée).
