Summary

Passo Tonale–Ponte di Legno is one of the best value-for-money ski areas in the Italian Alps: 100 km of pistes between 1,121m and 3,000m (Presena glacier), 30 lifts and a lift pass of around 60-70€. The presence of the glacier extends the season from November to May.

The area connects the Tonale alpine pass (1,886m) with Ponte di Legno and Temù, offering varied skiing from high-altitude glacier runs to intermediate forest pistes. The black piste Paradiso (3 km, 737m vertical) is one of the most spectacular in the Alps.

Why ski here

1. Paradiso piste: benchmark black run 3 km long with 737m vertical from the Presena glacier. One of the most spectacular and demanding black runs in the Italian Alps.

2. Presena glacier: skiing at 3,000m Extended season from November to May thanks to the glacier. Excellent snow cover at altitude and panoramic views of the Adamello range.

3. 100 km for around 65€ One of the most competitive lift passes in the Alps. Excellent value for a 100 km area with glacier access.

4. 60% intermediate pistes Ideal terrain for intermediate skiers. Wide, well-groomed pistes in the Tonale sector, complemented by more technical areas in Presena and Ponte di Legno.

Giora’s advice

Passo Tonale is my recommendation for families and intermediate skiers looking for glacier access plus a large area at affordable prices. Paradiso is a must for advanced skiers. Long season thanks to Presena. Very good option for extended weekends and spring escapes (March-May) when other resorts are closing.
