3. True ski-in/ski-out The village is designed for skiing: the vast majority of accommodation allows you to strap on your skis at the door. No buses, no internal transfers.

4. Benchmark après-ski La Folie Douce, Malaysia, Saloon… Val Thorens has one of the liveliest après-ski scenes in the Alps, with a young, international crowd.

Pistes and Highlights

Cime de Caron (3,195m)

The highest summit accessible by lift. Panoramic views across all Les 3 Vallées. Varied descents — reds and blacks for advanced skiers, with off-piste options on the north faces.

Pointe de Thorens (3,230m)

The highest point in the skiable domain. Powder snow frequent even in late season.

Orelle

Southern aspect, alternative access to the domain from the Maurienne valley. Less crowded pistes, ideal for busy days.

Péclet

Intermediate zone with a good mix of blues and reds. Perfect for warming up legs before heading to the peaks.

Accommodation

Val Thorens has modern resort architecture (1970s, renovated), lacking the medieval charm of villages like Saint-Martin. It makes up for it with functionality: everything on the piste.

Après-ski

Val Thorens is one of the capitals of après-ski in the Alps. Young, international crowd.
