How I work with Fish & Pips
F&P have no online booking engine. Everything runs on email, a spreadsheet and conversations that last as long as they need to. I say that as an advantage.
When you ask me for a chalet, I am not querying a system that spits back automatic availability. I write to Vicky, their commercial manager. She checks the live sheet and tells me what is genuinely left that week.
It is slower than a search engine. It is more accurate. And it usually comes out better on price, because F&P apply discounts they do not publish on their public site: first agent to sell, orphan weeks, groups filling the whole chalet.
I reply within 24 working hours with real availability, alternative options if the week you want is already gone, and a final price in euros. No intermediate commercial breakdown. No surprises.

Why Méribel
600 km of piste. Three villages. A resort that does not show off.
Méribel is the geographical centre of Les Trois Vallées. In cold figures, that is 600 km of connected piste. In practice, it is breakfast in Méribel, lunch in Val Thorens, and runs down through Courchevel without touching the car.
It is not Chamonix. It does not require you to be worthy before you are happy. Méribel has trees and small villages and pistes that still ski well when it is blowing higher up. It works for the group of six friends who ski hard. It works for the grandparents who take three blue runs and earn their fondue.
Do not go if you are after a glacier above 3,000 m, or if the idea of seeing wooden chalets on every corner bores you. Zermatt or Val d’Isère are there for that.
Méribel is like a good conversation: it starts slowly and you do not want it to end.
