Two mountains (Gitschberg and Jochtal) connected by gondola form a balanced domain with a predominance of intermediate pistes (27 km), ideal for families and intermediate-level skiers.

The resort stands out for its exceptional accessibility: direct train to Rio di Pusteria/Mühlbach and cable car from the station to the pistes. Located at the entrance to Val Pusteria, near Bressanone/Brixen.

Why ski here

1. Direct access train → cable car Train to Rio di Pusteria and cable car directly to the pistes. One of the most accessible resorts without a car across all of Dolomiti Superski.

2. Ideal for intermediates 27 km of well-groomed intermediate pistes, perfect for carving and progression. Complemented by 18.5 km of easy runs and 9.3 km of difficult runs.

3. Two mountains, one compact domain Gitschberg and Jochtal connected by gondola. Easy to cover in a day without losing time on transfers.

4. Best value in Dolomiti Superski Local lift pass at a lower price (~70-80€) and affordable accommodation. Less touristy, more authentic.

Very quiet atmosphere. Mountain refuges with Tyrolean gastronomy. Bressanone (15 mins away) offers a historic city with excellent restaurants as a cultural alternative to skiing.

Gitschberg-Jochtal is my recommendation for families on a tight budget who want access to Dolomiti Superski with maximum logistical convenience. Train + cable car without a car, easy/intermediate pistes, reasonable prices. Base yourself in Bressanone to combine skiing with culture. Ideal for 4-5 nights.
