With ~224 km of pistes and 70% of the terrain between 2,000 and 3,000 m, it is one of Switzerland’s most reliable snow domains. Why ski here

  • Freestyle capital: 5 snowparks, superpipe and minipipe of world reference — few places in Europe can compete
  • Reliable snow: 70% of terrain between 2,000 and 3,000 m, with maximum altitude at 3,018 m
  • Level balance: good spread between blues (88 km) and reds (81 km) for mixed groups
  • Modern and young brand: very different image from classic alpine resorts, attractive to an audience seeking something different

Accommodation

Three base villages: Flims (more upmarket, with Cauma lake in summer), Laax (centre of freestyle action) and Falera (quiet, family-friendly). Options from apartments to 4-5 star hotels.

Après-ski

Younger and more relaxed atmosphere than the big Austrian resorts. The scene is concentrated in Laax, with bars and events linked to the snowboarding and music world.

How to get there

  • Plane: Zurich is the main airport (~2 h total)
  • Train: To Chur (capital of Graubünden), then direct bus to Flims/Laax/Falera
  • Car: Motorway to Chur, then mountain road (~15 min)

Giora’s tip

Ideal for young clients, snowboarders or families wanting something different from classic alpine skiing. The combination of elite freestyle with wide, well-groomed pistes makes it very marketable as “Switzerland’s cool resort”. A good alternative to [[arosa-lenzerheide]] if the client is after more vibe and less tradition.

  • [[arosa-lenzerheide]] — Another major Graubünden domain
  • [[davos-klosters]] — 1.5 h by road, complementary in character
  • [[st-moritz]] — The luxury classic of Graubünden
