Foret is F&P’s largest chalet in their Méribel catalogue. Fifteen beds. Dining room for fifteen. Same building in two operating modes: with chef and host (catered) or with daily cleaning and self-catering (serviced).
This isn’t for everyone. Fifteen people living together for a week is a social experiment. If the last time you were all together was at a wedding and nobody argued, perfect. If it was at a Christmas dinner and someone cried, you might want to think it through.
Have you ever organised a table of fifteen where everyone was happy? It’s one of the hardest things in adult life. Here it’s physically sorted. The human part is still up to you.
Catered Mode — chef cooking for fifteen without improvising
F&P’s classic formula adapted to this large size. Chef cooking for fifteen without improvising, host organising the day, breakfast before the first run, four-course dinner. Everything included except alcohol. Works out when the chalet is full.
Serviced Mode — the chalet without a chef, you cook
Same building, fifteen beds, no chef. I know what you’re thinking: “perfect, we’ll take turns cooking, it’ll be cheaper”. Sometimes it works. Most of the time, two people end up handling all fifteen meals and by day four they never want to see a kitchen again. It works well when someone in the group is an enthusiastic cook and the others accept that the chef this week is them.
Don’t book if you’re fewer than twelve. The price per person shoots up and the chalet feels too large.
When it works, Foret is the week people talk about ten years later.

Best for
Large families, large stag and hen parties, corporate teams travelling together. Catered if nobody wants to cook; serviced if you have enthusiastic cooks in the group.
Do not go if
Small group. For fewer than twelve the cost per person shoots up and the chalet feels too large.
