Resort fact sheet
Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon is one of the newest in the Club Med catalogue and one of the most versatile. It is built at 1,600 m on the plateau of the Saix, with 360-degree views of Upper Savoy: Mont Blanc ahead, Aravis to one side, Faucigny to the other. The Grand Massif domain is 265 km of pistes connecting five resorts — Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt, Les Carroz and Flaine — under a single lift pass.
It is the only Club Med Alps resort (alongside Valmorel) that offers two products in parallel: the classic resort hotel and the private Villas & Chalets with integrated Club Med service. That gives it a different clientele: I send it to those who want all-inclusive but with their own kitchen and independence, or to multigenerational families who need more space than a bedroom. Ask me about the specific option when you enquire — it’s the conversation that most changes the final price.
Spa signed by Sothys, three room categories (Superior 7 options, Deluxe 4, Suite 1), and the logistical advantage that counts: Geneva airport 1 hour away, with no need for train or expensive car hire. For clients from Madrid/Barcelona via Geneva it is one of the most accessible Club Med Alps resorts.
Don’t go if snow guarantee in April is your priority. Samoëns is well served by snow cannons, but the village base altitude (720 m) is the lowest in the Club Med Alps catalogue — for total late-season guarantee, Tignes, Val Thorens or La Plagne 2100 are better.
I recommend Grand Massif to the family that says “we want skiing + the option of a private chalet + close to Geneva”.

Other accommodation available
This resort also runs private chalets and/or apartments with Club Med service built in: your own kitchen, access to the resort’s communal areas, and an optional all-inclusive package. Ask me about the exact arrangement when you request a quote.
Best for
Family coming from Geneva (1 hour away) who want the choice of resort hotel OR private villa/chalet with all-inclusive. Combines a week's skiing with green summer scenery if you want to extend.
Do not go if
Critical snow guarantee in December or long April. The village departure altitude (Samoëns 720 m) is the lowest in the Club Med Alps catalogue — the high-altitude domain is good, but the return to the hotel depends on snow cannons some years.
