Ideal for Family that wants all-inclusive running at full steam without fuss, with the possibility of popping over to eat pasta in Italy (La Thuile) without a car.
Avoid if Serious skier looking for 400 km and maximum altitude. For that, Val Thorens, Les Arcs Panorama or Tignes — La Rosière is 160 km spread across two countries.

La Rosière is what an honest agent would write if recommending Club Med to a family with children without having to justify anything afterwards: at 1,850 m, south-facing, overlooking the entire Tarentaise valley and connected by a single lift pass to San Bernardo Space, where one descent takes you to eat pasta in La Thuile without asking anyone’s permission.

The spa bears the myBlend signature (by Clarins) — more subtle than Cinq Mondes, more focused on skincare treatments than Oriental wellness. The rooms come in three categories (Superior, Deluxe, Exclusive Collection Space), covering everything from the standard family trip to “we want six days in the top-floor suite”. And the entire resort is designed so children and adults cross paths in corridors, in the restaurant, on the pistes — without segregation, without rigid programming.

All it asks in return: accept that 160 km of pistes is not the 600 km of Val Thorens. You don’t come here to clock up kilometres — you come for a relaxed week with very solid skiing and the singular experience of crossing the border with your skis on.

Don’t go if what you’re after is altitude (the highest piste altitude doesn’t reach 2,700 m), serious nightlife, or an enormous domain. For intensive skiing at high altitude, Val Thorens; for stopping and breathing in traditional Savoyard architecture, Valmorel.

La Rosière is the Club Med “first family trip” I send to anyone wanting to discover the model without overextending.

Why Club Med

Lift pass, lessons, meals and kids’ club on a single invoice.

Club Med works very well for one particular kind of traveller: families who do not want to think about anything for a week, couples who would rather have the table already set than go hunting for a bistro, groups who like dinner to mix with other tables. If you recognise yourself there, this is for you.

All-inclusive in the Alps has little to do with all-inclusive in the Caribbean. Here the lift pass, the ESF lessons, full board with wine on the table and the kids’ club all live inside the same price. There are no surprises on the way out. When you add up on paper what each of those costs separately at any resort in the Alps, the Club Med model usually lands on the side of making sense.

If it does not suit you, I will say so: if what you want is the cabin lost in the middle of the woods, or long dinners in the village at your own pace, or you are not taking anyone to a kids’ club — there are other products on this same site for that (chalets in Méribel, and booking freely in any of the resorts we list).

What I add is the human filter: helping you decide which resort fits how you travel — before you book, not after.
