Saint-Moritz Roi Soleil is the only Club Med in Switzerland, and that puts it in a category apart from the catalogue. You’re at 1,850 m in the heart of Engadin, with Lake Saint-Moritz in view and the Corviglia domain as your playground. Swiss elegance is noticeable from the entrance: pale stone, wood, clean lines, a building that carries the word “Roi Soleil” without irony.
What sets this Club Med apart from all the French ones isn’t just the country — it’s the rhythm. Cross-country skiing is front and centre in the list of standout activities (and in the Club Med Alpes catalogue, that only happens here); Engadin has the most respected cross-country piste network in the Alps, with the mythical Engadin Skimarathon race in March. That brings a specific clientele: someone who wants to alternate alpine with cross-country in the same week, without getting in the car.
The alpine domain is Corviglia (connected to Corvatsch via the Engadin-St. Moritz Mountains network, around 350 km combined with several zones), and the resort’s cuisine and service carry the Swiss standard signature — more understated than the French Club Meds, less dense nighttime animation, more respect for silence. It’s one of the Club Med Alpes I’ve seen recommended most often to older couples with comfortable means.
Don’t come if your thing is very active family atmosphere, après-ski nightlife or maximum-altitude skiing in the Val Thorens style. Saint-Moritz is quiet elegance — at the other end of the catalogue.
Saint-Moritz is the “we want Switzerland, we want to ski, we want quality” destination I send to mature clients who’ve already done the French Club Meds.
